SPORT SHORTS CHRIS PATERSON

The lowdown on the Edinburgh and Scotland

winger Age 24 Born Edinburgh Lives Galashiels

Career history I played at school. then Gala Academy. and then I was lucky enough to go professional with Edinburgh, and then from there I

got a Scotland game.

Most memorable game Scotland beat England

in 2000 at Murrayfield that was pretty

memorable. And anytime you play the All Blacks is

always fun.

Favourite film It's going to sound corny. but Top Gun has to be up there as the best film. Favourite place to hang out? We all go to Beluga in Edinburgh. That's probably the most

regular place we go.

What book are you reading? Roy Keane's

autobiography.

What other sports do you play? I was a keen football player at school and I like to play a lot of golf. I've tried everything apart from horse riding. I‘ve tried fishing. skiing and curling. but I've never

been on a horse.

How does playing for Edinburgh compare to playing for Scotland? The biggest difference is preparation. Playing with your club. you train all day and you play all year; you know the guys inside out. With Scotland. you know all the players. but you don't know as much about them. It is quite difficult when one week you're playing against them and the next you're sharing a room together. Favourite place you’ve visited? I would say it's Dubai. I played sevens in Dubai and I liked the heat. New Zealand was a lovely place as well. but for a holiday I would say

Dubai.

Are you looking forward to next year’s World Cup? There's so much between now and then. There's huge
