CALLING ALL FILMMAKERS!

Attention all budding filmmakers and music fans, here’s an opportunity you don’t want to miss - the chance to create your own mini-documentary on one of the coolest music festivals in the country.

Once again Tennent's Lager, in partnership with The List have teamed up to offer you the chance to have access-all-areas to the likes of Grace Jones, Carl Craig, Derrick Carter, Lou Donaldson, Laurie Anderson, J-Live, the Vines and Zero 7 to fully capture on film the real vibe of trip‘l'ych. That’s access to rehearsals, sound checks, the artists, their entourage, the tt'ip‘lych staff, the venues . . . basically as much as you can handle.

In order to be selected, you’ll need to assure us that you’re as enthusiastic about filmmaking as we are, and we’ll need a showreel, film or othemise of your talents to help us judge the best three filmmakers to' document the country’s most dynamic music festival. Following a one-day theory and planning workshop at the CCA, three teams of participants will be offered that access-all- areas pass to trime and the equipment to realise your vision.

Upon completion of filming, GMAC, Mediabase and Peacock Visual Arts will open their doors, where leading industry experts will assist you in the making of your 15- minute masterpiece.

Ultimately the film will be whatever you want to make it, as last year’s winner Calum Ferguson explains. ‘lt’s a good opportunity to show what you can do, in a semi-competitive environment,’ he says. ‘lt’s also a great opportunity to film some fantastic artists up- close and personal and to get backstage passes to meet people you could never have hoped to meet.’

He adds these words of advice: ‘Have fun: it’s only as stressful as you want to make it.’

In addition to the sheer opportunity, the final works will be screened to an invited audience at the GFT in August, where a winning film will be chosen by Nicola Black (Blackwatch Productions) and John Hassey and its makers awarded with state-of-the-art studio equipment for keeps.

Send examples of work or a cover letter explaining why you or your team should be selected by no later than Thu 10 April 2003 to:
