I Calling all List readers who are interested in art criticism in Scotland (or rather, the lack of it): drag your sorry educated carcasses up to Dundee’s DCA for a day long conference on ‘Writing Scottish Art’. The conference will look at the mess we’re in, and answer questions such as ‘Is there a Scottish art?’, and ‘What are its characteristics?’ Any art criticism that gives star ratings, refuses to cheerlead or regurgitate press releases in florid lingo will be given a right telling off, so List visual art critics will gather for hot chocolate and hugs as the psychic attack begins on the morning of Fri 8 Sep. I As the finale to their studies. over 30 postgraduate students from Duncan of Jordanstone College of Art and Design take part in Masters Show 2006. 2—1 4 Sep. While the Cooper Gallery showcases the work of Masters of Design students, the students from Fine Art. I It was suggested in the last issue that Keith Coventry’s exhibition at the Tramway and the work shown in the Tramway's Project Room (‘How to do White') was a collaboration between Coventry, Lisa Gallacher, Hannah Hewetson and Fiona Jardine. This is in fact incon'ect. The work by the three Glasgow-based artists was made in response to his paintings.
