Music news that has just discovered a great new band called Les/ieninnininininielsen. T Break is back and aspirant musicians who can see themselves throwing shapes on the stage at T in the Park should get over to www.tbreak.com for an application form. The heats will take place Thursday 3-10 May at King Tut’s and the Liquid Room. Deadline for submissions is Monday 5 March.

On a similar note, Burnsong is looking for submissions for their 2007 song competition. Songwriters from any genre can enter and the winner will be invited to perform at the Burnsong Festival in November. You have until Tuesday 15 May to go to www.burnsong.com for more info. The Triptych line-up is coming next issue, we promise. We’ve had a few sneaky peeks already and to be frank, it’s better than ever. Evan Parker, CSS and Ute Lemer are just the start of it.

Snow Patrol may have let the cat out the bag already with their headlining appearance at T in the Park on Saturday 7—Sunday 8 July, but more is expected in the next three weeks. We’re not the kind of publication to spread scurrilous rumours but there are rock gods and new stadium fillers vying for space up the loftier regions of the bill. We’ll keep you posted.

Those of you in fine voice can add yours to the mix for charity as Waverly Care host ‘Come and Sing’ at St George’s West Church, Edinburgh on Saturday 3 March. The Edinburgh Singers, Glasgow- based choir The Merchant Voices are among those leading the singing and Haydn’s Nelson Mass is the main work to be performed. See classical listings, next issue for full details.
