Following its acclaimed premier at Glasgow’s Oran Mor earlier in the year, lain Heggie’s satirical insight into the moral dubiety of the merchant class in late-18th century Glasgow takes to the road by popular demand. The play has garnered particular praise for the inch-perfect, detailed performance by John Bett in the role of prim and proper lawyer Enoch Dalmellington, who frets over the prophesies of Mistress Zapata, which includes the poor all having water closets and tobacco smoking being banned in public places.
