Digital Design Assistant with SCOTLAND’S LEADING ENTERTAINMENT & LIFESTYLE PUBLISHER
3 month internship at The List
The Digital Design Assistant will work alongside the Senior Digital Designer and the Digital Editor and assist with a range of tasks. The assistant will contribute to the maximisation of web site traffic and revenue and support high quality output from the digital operations. We seek recent graduates or final year students of a university course or vocational training that has heavily focused on design. You will bring skills in graphic design, web design and typography. You will need some knowledge of Photoshop, Fireworks, HTML, CSS and possibly Adobe Flash. Although this is a volunteer position, we will endeavour to make this internship possible
for as wide a group of people as possible with travel and subsistence support where needed.
Skills and experience to be gained during the internship:
Understanding of real world delivery of effective graphic design and typography; Practical experience of using digital design tools; Understanding of digital product and commercial development; Exposure to online marketing and the latest industry trends; Opportunity to explore SEO, traffic analytics and user tracking.
The Digital Design Assistant will become involved in 4 principal activities: The design of effective digital advertising campaigns; Production of HTML newsletters and
mailshots; Picture editing for online editorial, newsletters, mailshots and reader offers; Online production of editorial articles. At all times you may be asked to assist with other aspects of the Company’s work as
