3 SANDY Age: 26 Work: Self-employed / assistant

front of house manager at a hotel Where do you live? West End, Glasgow

Hobbies: Running my wee business, meeting up with friends, running and travelling. Describe yourself in 5 words: Friendly, outgoing, pro-active,

chatty, sentimental. Guilty pleasure: That cheeky ‘one more beer’ at the end of the night. Pet peeve: People not being friendly. Animal lover? Yes, dogs. What’s your idea of a great night out? My ideal night out would have to have lots of people in it. We would start with meeting at the flat for some drinks before heading on to a pub somewhere. Pubs and bars are always great banter if you are out with the right group, whereas clubs can be too loud to talk. I’m a big fan of proper bars or ‘old man pubs’, especially the Park Bar in Kelvingrove, which has live Scottish music at the weekends. After the bar we would head on to a gig or a club for some more drinks. What’s your idea of a great night in? My ideal night in would involve a good DVD, a curry from Mother India and a few beers. Sum up your perfect date: My perfect partner would be a bubbly, friendly girl who loved meeting people and chatting. She would have a nice balance of being active but also chilling out in front of the TV now and again.

SARAH Age: 30 Work: Theatre producer Where do you live: Edinburgh Hobbies: Cooking, going to the theatre, eating out, going to the gym, recently discovered my 'outdoorsy' side and that I like camping. Oh and visiting new places or cities around the world but I’m in need of a

travelling companion! I

recently went to Thailand and now would love to see more of Southeast Asia. Describe yourself in 5 words: Honest, empathetic, vivacious, decisive, discombobulated. Guilty pleasure: Making myself a seafood platter and homemade chips; getting so into a TV box set that I’ve finished it in a week. Pet peeve: Ignorant people. Animal lover? Yes: cats, elephants and dolphins.

What’s your idea of a great night out? Some drinks, good food (any kind, I love trying new places) and lots of laughs. What’s your idea of a great night in: Same as above

(I'm into making Thai curries at the moment), with a good movie thrown in a thriller or something which makes you

think like Momento, Donnie Darko or The Usual Suspects.

Sum up your perfect date: Someone with good banter and who can make me laugh. A man who is charismatic (but on the right side of arrogant!), with a naughty twinkle in his eye. Someone who doesn't take longer than me to get ready for a night out (and I’m fairly quick), who knows how to be a gent and make a girl feel looked after.

5 MICHAEL Age: 28 Work: Digital carbon-saving superhero Where do you live? Leith Hobbies: Outside of the office I play music, indulge in amateur cheesemongery, write fiction and enjoy planning adventures. Describe yourself in 5 words: Musical, clumsy, coffee, confident and amused. Guilty pleasure: Almost certainly the music of Elton John. Pet peeve: Not a lot annoys me, but my pet peeve is undoubtedly people who don’t appreciate what they’ve got: enjoying life should always be the priority. Animal lover? Animals are ace and I can’t wait for the day I get my own dog. Until then I make do walking the family hound whenever I get the chance. What’s your idea of a great night out? My favourite nights out start somewhere small for food, like Café Marlayne, then take in a gig before hurrying back to a cosy wee pub like the Blue Blazer for either rum or port, or wine if we’re behaving ourselves. What’s your idea of a great night in? I love cooking with other people, so a night in would be all hands on deck to rustle up a feast (the more meat, cheese, fish and pastry the better), before spending all night listening to records with red wine. Sum up your perfect date: My date with the perfect lady would start with a nice wholesome walk, maybe along the Water of Leith to the galleries, then a well-deserved long lunch somewhere with a real fire. Recharge with a few drinks and then head off to a gig, followed by dancing. Always finish with dancing. Failing this, we’d head to New York.
